Alexander Joseph

Alexander is a little over 2.5 going on 5! This kid is a S-M-A-R-T and knocks me off my feet everyday. All the credit goes to his Daddy (genes) and the fact that I have read to him everyday of his life since he was 2 weeks old.

Foods/drinks he loves: apples, bananas, peaches, pizza, spaghetti, chicken salad, egg whites, pb&j sandwiches, oranges, waffles, French toast, Ants on a log, yogurt, cereal, chocolate, ice cream, apple sauce, Italian food in general, coconut milk and WATER.

Loves to: watch Mickey mouse clubhouse, chugginton, backyardagains, leap frog series (thanks Uncle J), read, wrestle with Camden/Daddy, run circles around our house, rub Camden's head, color, paint, playdough, puzzles, make crafts just for "Dadda," take baths, dig in the dirt, swing, collect treasures outside, play in his sandbox while Daddy is grilling, run errands, help dust and vaccum.

One of the biggest things about Alexander is he doesn't know a stranger. He has the most sociable personality! Last summer a stranger was running down the street exercising and they stopped to ask me when I was due. He threw his chalk on the ground, took off, ran over and gave this woman a hug like he hadn't seen her in ages. She was completely shocked, but hugged him right back than apoligzied to me for how sweaty she was. He was on the verge of turning two, but has been like this since we was born! He loves everybody and has to say "Hello" to everyone we pass by while grocery shopping. We do get lots of dirty looks from unfriendly strangers, but I just smile and nod my head. My kid is happy, loves life and wants to greet you with a"hello" no matter who you are!

Alexander loves his grandparents and asks about each of them daily. They both spoil him rotten always baring gifts and yummies! He looks forward to seeing them and refuses to nap if we tell him ahead of time that they will be over later! We have learned to let grandparent visits be a surprise, otherwise he will stand at the window ALL DAY waiting! :)

All in all Alexander is a BLESSING! He has lifted our spirits time after time as we have gone through this rough season in our life. I know in my heart the Lord blessed us with Alexander first to help us get through life in the beginning with Camden. I have HUGE dreams and aspirations for this little boy...ones I know he will one day fulfill. He is amazing, brave and all BOY..he is my Alexander Joseph!

15 fun facts about my boys!

1. Alexander is a picky eater, but not like most 2 year olds. He refuses things like fish sticks, chicken nuggets, cheese sticks etc.
2. Finicky is Camden's middle name. He will only take a bottle from his Momma. We are WORKING on this!
3.  Alexander is musically inclined. He can hear a song or a beat and repeat it back to you after hearing it for the first time.
4.Camden would jump in the jumparoo forever if we let him.
5. Alexander thinks that if he starts every question with "Please Momma can I....?" that his charm will win me over.
6. Water + Camden = no fun. Camden LOATHES baths
7. Alexander's most prized possession is his Mickey blanket and "little bear"
8.Asking to use the potty multiple times a day when he really doesn't need to go, just to get a marshmallow, is a trick Alexander tries to pull over on me day after day.
9. Alexander stands on his tip toes while he watches TV.
10. After using the potty in our house Alexander will do his famous "potty dance" no matter who uses the restroom be it mommy, daddy or a visitor.
11.Alexander adores his little brother. "Aww baby Camden. He's sooo sweet." is one of  his most common phrases.
12.If you asked Camden, he would tell you that his big brother is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He is Alexander's biggest fan for sure.
13. Alexander WILL eat anything that has tomato sauce on it..he loves Italian food!
14. Before leaving for work some mornings Alexander feels the need to remind Ant that he needs to be home to give him his bath before "sleepynightnight," when Ant reassures him he will, he smiles and says, "thank you."
15.Camden's favorite thing in the world  is for Alexander to lay on top of him, they are both laughing all while Momma holds her breath praying no one gets hurt! The rougher Alexander is, the more Camden likes it.  I have my hands full for sure! :)

Happy 8 months Camden Thomas!

Can't believe Camden is 8 months old! He is my Mommas boy for sure!

Favorite things: his JUMPAROO still, listening to books, rolling all over the place, playing with his toys and looking for any wire that is plugged into an outlet that he can pull out!
Favorite food: sweet potoatoes, cereal and green bean

Least favorite Food: peas and apple sauce

Favorite person: he seems to want his Momma :)

Favorite things to do:  get tickled and look in the mirror

New things/Milestones: he is now rolling all over the place, trying to pull his legs up under himself to crawl, starting to imitate his older brother and he said his first word "Mamamama"

Favorite songs: When he hears "You are my sunshine" he always smiles, when we do the " itsy bitsy spider" he instantly giggles and when we sing his sleepy nightnight song "Jesus Loves me"  he  almost always puts his little head on my shoulder :)

Camden is my finicky baby for sure! He is very timid, sweet, and tends to cling to his Mommy and Daddy. (Something that is so strange to us...Alexander will hug a person on a street corner if we let him!) He does love his grandparents too. He will let anyone one hold him, but only Momma is allowed to feed him. When Daddy tries to feed him, he just laughs and spits it out right back at him! When anyone else tries to feed him, he just bites the nipples or refuses to suck. I am not sure why and it use to frustrate me. But I keep reminding myself that he will only be a baby for 4 more months and if he wants his Momma when he eats, than so be it. I am pretty sure we bought every bottle on the market from the most expensive to the cheapest. After about 2 months of searching we discovered he likes the $1.50 gerber bottles you can buy at any grocery store.  Now that we have spent over $100 on different bottles, we are happy to replace his $1.50 ones often.  He  wants his milk just the right temperature and if its not, don't plan on him eating. He also like his room at 67-69 degree. Please and thank you! ;)

Big brothers are soooo funny

Oh darlin' don't you ever grow up... #1

My Alexander is a crazy, wild child that keeps busy 99.5% of time time. Every now and then he stops in his tracks to say something that either melts my heart or sends to the floor rolling in laughter. I often immediately share his sweet comments on facebook, but I thought it would be fun to share his little stories here also. That way I could have them all in one general area.  :)

Today we started doing Valentines day crafts since V-day is next week. I had been searching some sites over the weekend and found an idea that would be perfect to teach Alexander about the heart. We made peanut butter men with cookie cutters and used candy hearts to show where the heart is located in the body. After we discussed where is his heart is, I went on to explain to him about how we are suppose to give our hearts to Jesus. The conversation went a little something like this.

Me: "Alexander, do you know who we are suppose to give our hearts to?

Alexander "No...who?"

Me "Jesus wants you to give your heart to him. He loves you so very much."

Alexander "But why?"

Me "Because he loves you and he wants you to open your heart to him and love him back. Jesus died for us remember?"

Alexander "Oh Momma, I do love Jesus. I want to hug him. Please! Please Momma! And I want to kiss him too!

Me: "Baby we can't hug him and kiss him..he is in heaven."

Alexander "But I want to!"

Me "We will be able to one day."

Alexander "But I want to now!"

Me: "Oh Alexander me too baby, me too. I want to hug and kiss Jesus right now too."

I sat there staring at him in his innocence while he gobbled up his little sandwiches and reveled in what a grand opportunity it is to teach my baby about the love of Christ. So very thankful for my sweet boy! <3

GOD is GOOD ALL the time...

Sorry to have not blogged lately. The Fahed household has kind of been in a uproar for about two weeks now. I won't bore you with the details though! On to what's really important!
The Lord has showered us with blessing after blessing lately and we are so thankful. We went for Camden's ultrasound on Jan 26th at 2:30. Looking back that week is a total blur because we were in total disbelief that something ELSE could possibly be wrong with Camden. All I honestly remember is the night before being on my knees, arms wrapped around my husband, sobbing and praying. Pleading that God grant our sweet baby health and that we could move on with our lives. I think we have been through so much emotionally that in our heads, or at least mine, I couldn't fathom dealing with another major medical problem. Ant didn't eat or sleep for two days straight and I didn't sleep but ate EVERYTHING in the house! Our pediatrician is a laid back kind of gal and when she became very concerned, so did we! It's not like her at all to get hyped up about anything really. She had me super convinced that there was def something wrong with Camden's head and I was just a wreck.
That morning before the ultrasound I actually tried to study head ultrasounds so I could recognize myself if something was wrong. lol Silly me..once again I felt the Lord whispering in my ear, "Sarah..YOU are not in control! I am! Trust in me." Soon we were standing in the ultrasound room, Camden was sweetly smiling up at the tech as she rubbed jelly on his BIG head. She began the ultrasound and I immediately felt the need to go vomit in the corner. I got myself together and though watching the screen, began to pray while holding back tears. I asked the tech over and over if she saw anything, but by law she wasn't allowed to say. She told me if it were her kid she wouldn't be concerned. The teach told us that the doc had to review it then he would MAIL over the result to my doc! Seriously!? We were told we were going to have to wait till Monday to get the results. We left feeling slightly better and so very pleased with our experience at chipenham once again.
Once we got home I immediately called our pediatrician office to see if I REALLY did have to wait till Monday! I couldn't imagine waiting all weekend! Two days was bad enough...we weren't gonna make it three more! I left a message and the nurse called me back about an hour later. When I heard the news that the doc had sent over the results and everything was FINE with Camden, I remember feeling like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. I ran to Ant to share the news, we both cried and hugged, then we celebrated with my MIL who fixed us an AMAZING dinner! (She is so wonderful!) I went to bed that night thanking the Lord for his goodness and with a belly ache from eating HALF a turtle pie.

About a month ago we sold our treadmill on Fb so we could use the money to buy a new camera. We have a cheaper camera we bought back before our honeymoon, but I can't tell you how many times I have dropped it! oops! When you take a picture with it it takes about 1 min or so to "process." Needless to say after 1 min my wild toddler is long gone and done with pictures! We decided we could sell the treadmill and use it towards a camera. It was actually a battle with me b/c I did not want to sell it. I thought maybe one day I would use it...MAYBE. Ant reminded me that we have had it for almost 3 years and he can count on his hand the amount of times it has been used. I finally gave in, we sold it and then an emergency happened in our downstairs bathroom. I was soooo bummed knowing that the treadmill money was long gone! We bought the supplies to fix the bathroom and I told myself I would eventually get over it. That maybe in couple months we would have the money to buy a nice camera to capture the precious fleeting moments with our boys.
The following Saturday Ant went out to get the mail. I was standing in the kitchen with the boys playing when I heard him say, "No way!" I looked at him confused and asked what was going on. My stomach usually drops at this because the hospital/docs have been famous for billing us for more money 5+ months after Camden was born. It seemed like each month we were getting in a NEW medical bill just when we thought we were done! But that wasn't the case at all! Apparently we had overpiad wells fargo on our mortgage this past year and it was a check for $800! We both looked at each other shocked! Wanna know how much the camera is that we wanted so bad.....about $800. Coincidence? I think not! A blessing from the Lord for sure!
I have spent the last few days taking pictures after picture trying to make up for all the pictures we haven't taken the last 7.5 months! Camden absolutely LOVES the flash and Alexander loves the shutter sound! We purchased the Canon T3i and we are in LOVE! It's amazing! Even though things have been shaky around here, my heart is full. The Lord is FAITHFUL and my baby's head is healthy! God is GOOD all the time!
