Sunshine, popsicles and grace!

We have been eating up the BEAUTIFUL weather here at the Fahed household! We have been practically living outside and the boys are enjoying it soooo much! I have a feeling its going to be one HOT summer, so we are trying to take advantage of it while we can!
The past few days we have been picnicking outside, digging in the dirt and taking turns going for rides in the tricycle.  One of my favorite moments this week was watching Alexander share his popsicle with Camden. The look on Camden's face was priceless when the cold lemon popsicle touched his tongue. Alexander and I laughed and laughed. Camden laughed too, after he got over the shock.
Later I sat there watching Alexander laugh in delight with his little red face, blonde curly hair, the popsicle began to melt and run down his chubby arm. He was so happy and the moment was so innocent. I couldn't help but smile and feel the abundance of joy that filled my heart. I sat there soaking it all in, taking snapshots in my mind, hoping that I will never forget him at this fun stage.  It's moments like this that make it all worth while.  It's times like these I have to stop and thank God for the moment of grace. Moments like this, where time freezes and it's as if nothing else matters. It's moments like these that get me through the days, the weeks, and the months of motherhood.

This what handsome looks like!

"Ugh, what was that?"

Our weekend in "Pippers"

We had a FABULOUS relaxing weekend with the boys. It was just what we needed.  We snuggled, played, cleaned, had a suprise visit from Uncle J, took strolls in the bob, played outside and grilled out! Here are few "pippers" as Alexander would say!

Hope you had a great weekend too!

Silence is BEAUTIFUL....for a while

Silence is a gift, but you don't know that till you have a 9 month old and almost 3 year old crazy boys  you are running around after all day.
Grammy and Poppy came over last weekend to watch the boys for us to go on a date night afternoon together alone. We were so excited and practically wanted to run out of the house when they came in! We ventured off to Outback that was pretty much vacant and spent time looking into each others eyes, flirting, and talking about everything. I giggled as I sat in the booth remembering we had sat in that exact same booth on New Year's Eve back in high school, where we chatted about everything that we thought was important at the time. And although I always knew Ant was the one just for me, I never could have imagined where we would be in about 8 years!  I never could imagined how blessed we would be. Don't get me wrong, really bad things have happened to us in our 3.5 short years of marriage, but we are TRULY blessed!
Our date was wonderful and a great refresher that we both needed, but as the hours passed by the silence became less wonderful. It was just plain AWKWARD at times to not have somebody screaming for attention, and yet after only being away for only a couple hours, we were both ready to get back to our boys.  Grammy and Poppy probably wished we would have stayed out just so they could have eaten up the boys a little longer! :)  Silence, as beautiful as it is, I would choose our "organized chaos" over it any day!

Snuggling with Poppy.

Camden is just so delicious!

Thanks Grammy and Poppy for spoiling the boys and letting us go on a date! :)

A morning at Nana and Papaul Jody's

Ant and I were up when the clock struck 5 to get ready for a busy day of getting our windows installed and packing up for a day at the Fahed's.  The look on Alexander's face was pure exhilaration when we told him where we were headed! Forget breakfast he wanted to go right then and there!  He was so excited he talked about them the whole way there. "Nana this and Jody that." We couldn't get there fast enough. He knew Nana was gonna have lots of surprises for him, and she didn't disappoint, never has!
After we were there a while Jody and Alexander ventured out to play in their wonderful backyard. He was Jody's little shadow wanting to help Jody in any way he could. Jody even hung his swing from a enormous tree and Alexander was on cloud nine. Alexander snuggled, played with the dogs, filled bird feeders, swung in the swing forever, and helped Jody fix Jack's bed (the dog). I dunno who enjoyed it more Alexander or Jody. It warmed my heart to see them walk hand in hand around the backyard grandfather and grandson just enjoying each others company. Alexander is so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents who enjoy spending time with him. He ate up every moment with them yesterday and woke up this morning begging to rehash it all over again today. He loves all his grandparents and so do I! Alexander and Camden are two lucky boys! <3
